What is Useless Knowledge?
A free, public collection of the weird, wonderful expertise people build outside their day jobs. An accountant who masters specialty coffee, a lawyer who knows medieval history — every entry pairs someone's professional day job with an unrelated domain they are genuinely an expert in.
What kind of knowledge can I share?
Any niche skill, hobby or obscure subject that has nothing to do with your profession — sourdough science, vintage synthesizers, competitive dog grooming, medieval swordsmanship. If you know a lot about it and it is unrelated to your day job, it belongs on the wall.
Do I need an account to contribute?
No. There are no accounts or sign-ups. You submit through a short form on our Share page: knowledge domain, details and day job are required; headline, name and social handle are optional.
Is Useless Knowledge free?
Yes — completely free to browse and to contribute, with no ads and no paywalls. The project is a fun experiment celebrating niche passions.
Who can see my submission?
Every entry appears publicly on the homepage wall, where visitors get a fresh random selection of community entries on each visit. Your name and social handle are optional — include them only if you would like credit.
